Everyone's Favorite Holiday The most widely celebrated holiday on Terra, Judgment Day commemorates the coming of the King to defeat Aru’Vahl, and establish a planetary reign of peace and prosperity for a thousand years. Judgment Day practices reflect certain events recorded in The Great Generation, the sacred text of all Royalists. Gift Giving symbolizes the king giving gifts of power to his subjects upon ascending the throne at City of Nations. The Welcoming Ceremony remembers the entrance of the King through the King’s Gate at the City of Nations when he returned to Terra. Door Decorations signify the joy of the King’s subjects in welcoming his return. The Presentation of Books commemorates the accounting his subjects gave for how they had lived their lives in his service prior to his return. (Three books are presented: The Account of Tellings, The Account of Teachings, and The Account of Tokens.) While private family celebrations only observe the above, larger meetings of Royalists in polifaith groups also include more somber elements of the occasion. The Declaration of the Dead remembers those deceived into alliances with Ophis and Aru’Vahl. The Order of Power, used by fablers and Royalist leadership to appoint new enclave leaders for the coming year, commemorates the King granting governorships to certain faithful subjects and Isian Masters. |
